SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT News Release September 16, 2004 THE SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT SEEKS MAN IN DEATH OF INFANT On Wednesday, September 15, 2004 the Santa Ana Police Department responded to a medical aid call regarding an 8-month old infant boy not breathing at 811 S. Fairview. The infant was transported to Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana with several injuries and later pronounced dead. It is believed that the 8-month old infant identified as Erick Alvirio was in the care of Jorge Delgado when the fatal injuries were sustained. The mother of the infant had left him in the care of Delgado for several hours as she attended to some errands. Shortly, after returning home she saw the condition of her child and called for help. Jorge Delgado had left the Fairview Street apartment after the mother arrived and has not been seen since. Santa Ana Police investigators have interviewed numerous people and followed numerous leads and as of yet have not been able to locate Delgado.
